The economy may be down, people are not buying cars, or going to work, but they are watching a lot more Internet video!

According to the most recent report from Nielsen Online, a service of The Nielsen Company, online video consumption and streaming is up across the board. According to the March 2009 report, versus February 2009 numbers, the number of Unique Viewers is up by almost 2%, while total streams has increased by 8.7%. Viewers are watching more as well - each viewer is now consuming 6.7% more streams and the time they are watching per month has increased by a whopping 12.6%.
According to the report, as expected, YouTube and Hulu are the top two visited sites with YouTube
gathering nearly 90 per cent of all unique viewers. Yahoo, Fox and Nickelodeon round out the top top five.
